PTT celebrates its 75th anniversary by reporting a first-half profit of 3.5 billion baht, advancing infrastructure upgrades, developing Smart Port and Laem Chabang Phase 3, aiming to become a seamless regional logistics hub.

The Port Authority of Thailand (PTT) held a ceremony commemorating its 75th anniversary, including social activities, donations to charitable organizations, and awards for employees to boost morale. The event was chaired by Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, with Mr. Sanphet Boonyaman, Deputy Minister of Transport, attending alongside executives from the Ministry of Transport, Lt. Rattakorn Khiewpaisan, Deputy Director of PTT's Financial and Organizational Strategy division acting as Director, PTT executives, staff, representatives from government agencies, private sector, service users, tenants, community representatives, and media at the PAT Arena building.

/ Mr. Phiphat revealed that over the past 75 years, PTT, as an agency supervised by the Ministry of Transport, has proven its vital role in driving the country's water transport system and economy. Moving forward, he urged PTT to implement the Ministry’s policies to upgrade port infrastructure, seamlessly link logistics and transportation systems, and leverage technology and innovation to enhance port management through integrated collaboration with all sectors. Emphasis should be placed on society, environment, and developing personnel capacity aligned with the modern global context to jointly propel Thailand's future growth.

/ Lt. Rattakorn Khiewpaisan, Deputy Director of PTT's Financial and Organizational Strategy division acting as Director of PTT, stated that in line with the Ministry of Transport’s policy to upgrade infrastructure and connect the country's logistics system, PTT is advancing organizational development under the concept "Empowering Thailand’s Future" by focusing on service efficiency, adopting technology and automation in port management, environmental initiatives, and fostering cooperation with communities and all sectors, driving five key areas: Smart Port development, environmentally friendly Green Port initiatives, community empowerment, regional logistics connectivity, and the development of Laem Chabang Port Phase 3.

First-half financial results reveal a profit of 3.5 billion baht.

Data from PTT on operations during the first half of fiscal year 2026 (October 2025 – March 2026) show continuous growth with notable figures as follows:

  • Total revenue of 8,306 million baht (an increase of 2.30%).

  • Net profit of 3,571 million baht (an increase of 1.88%).

  • Number of ship calls totaled 7,610 (an increase of 3.24%).

  • Container throughput was 6.08 million TEUs (an increase of 9.19%).

/ Lt. Rattakorn added that at Bangkok Port, PTT is accelerating infrastructure development to accommodate increasing cargo volumes by integrating technology and digital systems in port management, transforming Bangkok Port into a Semi-Automated Port, developing a distribution center and multimodal transport hub to maximize space utilization and cargo distribution, as well as improving connectivity between Bangkok Port and the Bangna-At Narong expressway (S1) to alleviate traffic impacts.

For Laem Chabang Port, PTT continues to implement Phase 3 as planned, while enhancing traffic and cargo transport management to ensure smooth operations, supporting the growth of trade and transportation sectors nationwide.

Additionally, PTT is responding to future user needs. For regional ports, PTT aims to develop capacities aligned with each area's economic role. Ranong Port focuses on handling Andaman Sea cargo, linking trade with BIMSTEC countries and supporting southern economic corridor development (SEC).

Meanwhile, Chiang Saen and Chiang Khong commercial ports are upgrading infrastructure and services to strengthen their roles as trade centers for the Mekong River region and enhance economic linkages with neighboring countries.

Moreover, PTT emphasizes environmental care, community quality of life, and coexistence with surrounding communities to ensure port development grows sustainably alongside society and local areas.
