
Supachai leads 15 Thai entertainment industry companies to participate in Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, aiming to promote Thai content internationally and target trade negotiations worth 1.4 billion baht.
Ms. Supachai Suthampan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, alongside Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, Mr. Wutthikrai Leewiraphan, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Ms. Sunantha Kankankulkij, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), and other Ministry of Commerce executives, visited the Thailand Pavilion at Marché du Film – Cannes Film Festival 2026 in Cannes, France.
Ms. Supachai revealed that the Ministry of Commerce, through the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), has brought 15 Thai companies from the film, animation, and related service sectors to participate in the 68th Marché du Film – Cannes Film Festival 2026, held from 12 to 20 May 2026, at the Thailand Pavilion covering 82 square meters. This marks the 19th time Thailand has participated in this event to create trade opportunities, expand foreign markets, and build partnerships within the global film industry.
The Thai participants this year are divided into two groups: 12 film production and distribution companies, including 1. Bibbidi Entertainment Co., Ltd., 2. Fearfolks Entertainment Co., Ltd., 3. Film Frame Productions Co., Ltd., 4. GDH 559 Co., Ltd., 5. GMM Studios International Co., Ltd., 6. M Distribution Co., Ltd., 7. Mono Streaming Co., Ltd., 8. Navarat Nimit Co., Ltd., 9. Plablabla Co., Ltd., 10. Sahamongkol Film International Co., Ltd., 11. Chai Saeng Adventure Co., Ltd., and 12. T&B Media Global (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
The second group includes three companies providing production and post-production services: 1. Benetone Films Co., Ltd., 2. Second Skin Studio Co., Ltd., and 3. White Light Studio Co., Ltd.
Ms. Supachai and Ms. Sabida discussed with Thai participants ways to expand markets and opportunities for collaboration with international partners to elevate the Thai entertainment industry on the world stage.
"In addition to bringing Thai film, animation, and related service companies to Marché du Film, the Ministry of Commerce aims to facilitate at least 250 business matching sessions and expects to generate trade negotiations worth no less than 1.4 billion baht," said Ms. Supachai.
In 2025, the Department of International Trade Promotion led 12 Thai companies in business matching activities under the Thailand Pavilion for the 18th time. The event attracted over 15,000 participants from 140 countries worldwide, including directors, producers, investors, distributors, artists, actors, and agents from many nations.
In 2025, the event generated 329 business meetings with a total trade value of 504.39 million baht. Key trading partners included the United States, China, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan, respectively.
Marché du Film was first held in 1959 in Cannes, France, and is one of the oldest and most important international film markets globally. It runs alongside the Cannes Film Festival to provide producers, distributors, investors, and buyers worldwide a platform to meet, negotiate business, promote international co-productions, and expand opportunities for global film and content licensing sales.
