BKS follows Deputy Minister Siripong’s policy by intensifying drug testing for company and affiliated bus drivers at Mo Chit 2 to build public confidence and enhance public transport safety.
Mr. Attawit Rakjamroon, President of the Transport Company Limited (BKS), stated that pursuant to Deputy Minister of Transport Siripong Angkasungkiat’s policy, BKS is elevating safety measures for public buses to assure public confidence in travel. This includes stricter alcohol and drug testing for company and affiliated bus drivers.
Today (18 May 2026), BKS conducted 100% drug testing on company and affiliated bus drivers before service departure at Platform 2, Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), also known as Mo Chit 2, testing approximately 100 drivers. No drugs were detected, and the results were recorded in the vehicle logbooks as evidence.
If drugs are found in a driver’s urine, they will be immediately suspended from duty. The urine samples will then be sent to the Department of Medical Sciences for confirmation. If drug use is confirmed, BKS and affiliated operators will impose disciplinary actions according to company regulations.
"The Ministry of Transport emphasizes that bus drivers must be free from alcohol and drugs for safety. BKS will continue urine testing for company and affiliated bus drivers at five Bangkok bus terminals: Mo Chit 2, Ekkamai, Southern Bus Terminal Borommaratchachonnani, Pinklao, and the Small Bus Terminal (Chatuchak). This has been ongoing, especially during peak travel periods like New Year and Songkran festivals, to prevent drug use, build public confidence, and reduce road accident risks," Mr. Attawit said.
