Ministry of Digital Economy and Society Directs Thailand Post to Strengthen Thai Logistics and Support Thai Entrepreneurs in Global Markets

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DES) has directed Thailand Post Company Limited to advance its organizational capabilities in logistics and digital platforms to support Thai entrepreneurs, especially SMEs and OTOP groups, enabling broader market access. This will be achieved by expanding the ThailandPostMart platform alongside integrating cooperation with government agencies and partners to increase business opportunities, enhance competitiveness, and maintain the country’s leadership in logistics.

Ms. Nan Boonthida Somchai, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, visited Thailand Post Company Limited, stating that the ministry prioritizes elevating the capabilities of its affiliated agencies to create tangible benefits for the public and economy. Thailand Post is a key organization with strengths including a nationwide service network, personnel familiar and connected with local contexts who can reach communities extensively, and logistics infrastructure that can be leveraged to create new business opportunities.

Additionally, policy directives were given for Thailand Post to accelerate the use of technology and digital platforms to create economic opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs, especially community products and local goods with potential. This involves enhancing the ThailandPostMart platform alongside integrated collaboration with ministries, government agencies, and partners across various sectors to jointly promote SMEs and OTOP entrepreneurs through sales promotion activities, trade shows, provincial and national fairs, and to expand Thai products’ access to wider domestic and international markets. Emphasis was placed on cooperative efforts among all sectors to support and promote one another for strong and sustainable growth.

Furthermore, Thailand Post was instructed to improve logistics cost management efficiency amid intense market competition and energy cost volatility by promoting clean energy use and transportation methods that reduce fuel dependence. This will be combined with leveraging the postal network and the capacity of postal workers nationwide to expand services and generate new revenue streams, strengthening the organization to grow sustainably and maintain its position as the country’s logistics leader.

Dr. Danan Supattapan, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Thailand Post Company Limited, stated that Thailand Post is ready to drive the organization according to the policies ofthe Ministry of Digital Economy and Society.It will accelerate enhancing the potential of ThailandPostMart as a key mechanism to support Thai entrepreneurs, especially SMEs and OTOP groups, to access broader marketing channels domestically and internationally. This will be combined with integrated cooperation with government agencies and partners across various sectors to jointly create business opportunities and concretely support the growth of Thai entrepreneurs.

At the same time, Thailand Post will continuously improve operational efficiency in logistics, including cost management, enhancing transportation network efficiency, and utilizingthe potential of the networkof Thailand Post and postal workers nationwide to expand services and create new revenue sources, strengthening competitiveness amid the highly competitive logistics market changes.

“Thailand Post is ready to develop the organization to effectively meet the needs of the public, business sector, and government through developing new products and services, leveraging strengths in infrastructure and logistics expertise, and pursuing sustainability to maintain user trust and strengthen Thailand Post’s position as the country’s logistics leader,” Dr. Danan concluded.
