Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture Leads Delegation to Louvre Museum to Study Global Art and Culture Management Practices

On 24 May 2026 at 09:00 local time in the French Republic, Mr. Prasop Riangngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, led senior officials from the Ministry of Culture to meet with representatives of the Musée du Louvre. They exchanged best practices in world-class museum management and cultural exhibition spaces.

The Louvre Museum has a long history, evolving from a 12th-century fortress into a royal palace before opening as a museum in 1793. It is currently divided into three main wings: Richelieu (north), Sully (central), and Denon (south), covering over 72,000 square meters. It houses more than 35,000 valuable artifacts and artworks, ranging from prehistoric times to the mid-19th century.

The Ministry of Culture delegation viewed famous global artworks and artifacts, including the Venus de Milo statue, the Winged Victory of Samothrace statue, the Coronation of Napoleon painting, and Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa, which is a key cultural and historical symbol of the French Republic.

Additionally, the delegation discussed and exchanged ideas on museum management, displaying historical artifacts, designing learning pathways within exhibitions, and narrating the stories of artifacts to create effective learning experiences for the public and tourists. This approach is vital for developing Thailand’s museums and cultural learning centers to international standards.
