The Ministry of Commerce continues to drive grassroots economic development. Provincial commerce offices nationwide have collaborated with the private sector to select 199 capable and export-ready entrepreneurs from 76 provinces to showcase their products at the global food exhibition THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2026, aiming to increase the economic value of Thai local products.

Major Chakra Yodmanee, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, stated that Thailand possesses high-quality agricultural raw materials in every region. Under the leadership of Supachai Sutthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, the ministry prioritizes enhancing the capabilities of farmers and entrepreneurs alongside improving product quality.
They focus on combining the unique quality of traditional agricultural products with technology, innovation, and intellectual property to expand the customer base among modern consumers both domestically and internationally. Especially targeting niche consumer trends such as functional foods for the elderly, health-conscious groups, and ready-to-eat meals, which are in demand globally.
Participation in THAIFEX 2026 is not just about showcasing products; it is a key opportunity for regional entrepreneurs to learn and test the market to upgrade their products to meet global demand. Additionally, the event serves as a vital platform for building trade networks and conducting business matching with buyers and importers worldwide.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce further explained that enabling actual purchase orders and contracts during the event will help integrate Thai community products into the global supply chain. This will benefit agricultural product price stability and generate sustainable income circulating back to communities.
