Commerce Ministry to Launch “Thai Helps Thai: Boosting SME Income” Online Sales Project with No GP Fees

The Ministry of Commerce launched the “Thai Helps Thai: Boosting SME Income” project, promoting products on two online platforms with no GP fees and offering 100-baht discount coupons, aiming to stimulate the economy and advance digital commerce.

The Ministry of Commerce teams up with online platforms to promote SMEs toward “digital commerce.”

Amid a slowing global economy and an energy crisis affecting living costs, the Ministry of Commerce is advancing policies to assist small entrepreneurs, focusing on using technology and online platforms as key tools to increase income and reduce costs.

Mr. Poonpong Nainapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, revealed that the Department of Business Development is building on its success by launching the “Thai Helps Thai: Boosting SME Income” project, a flagship government policy under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Sutthaman. This policy prioritizes support for community, small entrepreneurs, and SMEs nationwide to create economic liquidity from local to national levels.

Highlights of “Thai Helps Thai”: No GP fees and discount coupons

This project integrates cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and two Thai online platforms, ThailandPostMart and Nex Gen Commerce, to list products from participating entrepreneurs on their platforms, increasing consumer access to these goods.

A key feature of this project is that both platforms support entrepreneurs by waiving sales commission fees (GP: Gross Profit) throughout the project period. Furthermore, the government and Ministry of Commerce provide 500,000 discount coupons worth 100 baht each, along with free shipping benefits, helping to lower costs and increase profits for entrepreneurs. This also encourages consumers to support quality Thai products at special prices.

Supporting “Made in Thailand, Use Thai, Strong Thailand” and opening applications for 2,000 entrepreneurs

The project focuses on consumer goods made from raw materials produced in Thailand, under the concept “Made in Thailand, Use Thai, Strong Thailand,” aiming to reduce imports and stimulate consumption of Thai products.

Initially, the Ministry of Commerce and provincial commerce offices nationwide are inviting 2,000 capable small entrepreneurs, community businesses, and SMEs to open stores on the platforms. Applications are open now until 31 May 2026 GMT+7 (or until quotas are filled) via www.ไทยช่วยไทย.net.

Throughout participation, the Department of Business Development and teams from both platforms will act as advisors, providing guidance to solve problems and help entrepreneurs fully transition into professional online sellers.

Launch event scheduled for 4 June

The Ministry of Commerce plans an official launch ceremony for the “Thai Helps Thai: Boosting SME Income” project on Thursday, 4 June 2026 GMT+7, at the Burachat Chayakorn Room, Ministry of Commerce, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Sutthaman. The event will feature activities allowing attendees to add products from entrepreneurs to their shopping carts, with live broadcasts on the Ministry of Commerce and Department of Business Development’s Facebook Live pages, enabling nationwide public participation and support for the products.
