
Surasak, Minister of Tourism, joined forces with the private sector to kick off LOVE PRIDE 2026, driving Thailand to become a hub for diverse tourism through the Pride Economy, a vital force in advancing the country's economy and tourism.
On 31 May 2026, Surasak Pancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, chaired the opening ceremony and launched the LOVE PRIDE 2026 parade. He stated that LOVE PRIDE 2026 reflects Thailand's commitment to being an open society that embraces diversity and upholds the human dignity of all individuals.
“The Pride Economy is another important force propelling the country's economy and tourism. Thailand ranks fourth worldwide in tourism revenue from the LGBTQ+ community, demonstrating Thailand's potential as a global destination.”
The atmosphere at LOVE PRIDE 2026 was lively, with many citizens, tourists, and LGBTQ+ community members participating enthusiastically. Along the parade route, the public warmly greeted and celebrated the event by waving and showing support.
At the same time, Surasak led the launch of the LOVE PRIDE 2026 parade from M Sphere Shopping Center to Thephasadin Stadium to promote the power of love, equality, and pride in diversity. He expressed confidence that Thailand has the potential to host World Pride 2030 in the future.
Attending the event at M Sphere Shopping Center, Bangkok, were Chotika Akkaritkosopakoon, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture; Thapanee Kiatphaiboon, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand; and Supalak Ampuch, Chairwoman of The Mall Group Co., Ltd., M District Siam Paragon Retail, and Bangkok Mall.
