The Ministry of Culture is preparing to hold events honoring Her Majesty the Queen on the occasion of the grand royal ceremony celebrating her 48th birthday on 3 June 2026, to express deep gratitude for her royal benevolence and to continue her dedication to religion, arts, and culture.
Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Culture, revealed that on this auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 48th birthday on 3 June 2026, the Ministry of Culture and its affiliated agencies deeply appreciate her incomparable royal grace. She has carried out numerous royal duties alongside His Majesty the King with perseverance, a compassionate heart, and a commitment to relieve suffering and promote well-being for citizens throughout the country. She has also prioritized conserving, preserving, and advancing Thai cultural heritage, local wisdom, handicrafts, traditional Thai textiles, and Thai identity, which form the nation’s vital foundation.
The Minister added that to celebrate and pay royal tribute, the Ministry of Culture will organize activities both centrally and regionally throughout June 2026. These will cover religion, arts and culture, volunteerism, and the dissemination of the Queen’s biography and royal duties to provide all sectors of society an opportunity to collectively express loyalty and gratitude for her royal benevolence.
Key activities include religious events: the Department of Religious Affairs will hold a Vipassana meditation event for all people to dedicate merit at Wat Thammamongkhon Thep Boon Nont Vihara and conduct Buddhist chanting ceremonies along with distributing survival bags to communities at Wat Hong Rattanaram Ratchaworawihan. It will also collaborate with provincial cultural offices and network temples in all 76 provinces to organize nationwide religious activities honoring the Queen throughout June 2026. Additionally, cooperation with five religious organizations—Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Brahmin-Hinduism, and Sikhism—will facilitate religious ceremonies according to each faith’s rites to pay royal tribute at religious sites nationwide. Centrally, a multi-faith religious ceremony will be held on 4 June 2026 at the National Theater to unite the faith of all religions in offering blessings.
Regarding arts and cultural activities, the Fine Arts Department has created a commemorative emblem to decorate venues and accompany celebrations nationwide. Meanwhile, the Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, together with 12 national colleges of dramatic arts, will host the event “Bunditpatanasilpa Institute’s United Thai Classical Dance Performance to Offer Blessings” simultaneously across the country on 3 June 2026 to honor Her Majesty and preserve Thai identity through performing arts.
Moreover, the Department of Cultural Promotion will present the “Traveling Thai Puppet Theater in Honor of the Queen” at educational institutions across the four regions to promote Thai arts and culture and instill cultural values in youth during June 2026. The Ministry of Culture’s Office of the Permanent Secretary, in partnership with the Thai Silk and Culture Promotion Association, will organize the “15th Thai Silk Festival: Thai Silk on the Global Path” on 6 June 2026 at the Naval Convention Hall to continue the heritage of Thai textiles and elevate Thai cultural capital on the international stage.
The Minister further stated that for knowledge dissemination, the Ministry’s Office of the Permanent Secretary will publish a commemorative book compiling information about Her Majesty the Queen’s royal attire, including design, fabric choices, accessories, and cultural significance that reflect Thai identity. This publication will demonstrate Her Majesty’s creativity and royal preference in preserving and promoting Thai textiles beautifully.
Concurrently, there will be volunteer activities for society such as the “SSRC Sharing Happiness for Society” project by the Office of Contemporary Arts and Culture, donations to the underprivileged, volunteer activities by the Moral Center (a public organization), and coral reef restoration projects to rehabilitate marine resources by the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund at the Sea Turtle Conservation Center of the Royal Navy. These activities honor the Queen’s royal commitment to natural resource conservation and building a sharing society.
“The Ministry of Culture invites the public to join these grand celebrations to collectively demonstrate loyalty, express gratitude for Her Majesty’s royal benevolence, and continue preserving the values of religion, arts, and Thai culture to endure firmly into the future,” Minister Sabida concluded.
