Update on M82 Motorway: Daytime Traffic Surface Restored, Nighttime Diversions Remain

The Department of Highways announced that the M82 motorway has had its traffic surface restored during the daytime before crossing the Tha Chin River. They emphasized that nighttime lane closures in front of Porto Chino to PTT Tha Chin remain necessary for construction safety.

Department of Highways reports progress on daytime traffic surface restoration on the M82 motorway.

The Department of Highways, through the Bridge Construction Office, reported progress on the M82 motorway project (Ekachai–Ban Phaeo section). They have completed lifting and installing the elevated structure components in section 7 before crossing the Tha Chin River. On 2 June 2026 at 05:00, they restored the traffic surface and ended the daytime main lane closures in that area to facilitate road users.

Check nighttime traffic diversions on Rama 2 Road.

Nighttime work still requires main lane closures as a safety measure from Porto Chino (km 25) to the PTT Tha Chin gas station (km 32) for remaining construction on the elevated structure.

Details of ongoing construction work.

Nighttime construction includes installing bridge railings, pouring concrete for bridge deck connections, installing bridge deck joints, paving, road marking, and installing lighting fixtures.

Additionally, construction on the entry-exit ramps in front of HomePro Mahachai is being expedited. This requires partial lane closures on the parallel road to create a safety zone for securely lifting and installing prefabricated structural components for section 4 of the project.

Efforts to manage traffic and minimize public impact.

The Department of Highways stated it will plan nighttime traffic management on Rama 2 Road for the remaining M82 construction works to minimize travel disruption and maximize safety. They will continuously publicize traffic management information so travelers can plan ahead.
