Supachai kicked off the “Thai Helps Thai to Boost SME Income” project, promoting more than 2,000 community products on online platforms throughout June 2026, offering full discount codes and free shipping to stimulate the grassroots economy.
Ms. Supachai Suthamphan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, presided over the launch (Kick Off) of the “Thai Helps Thai to Boost SME Income” project at the Burachat Chaiyakorn meeting room, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce. Attendees included Ms. Nan Boonthida Somchai, Deputy Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DES), Mr. Wuttikrai Leewiraphan, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Poonpong Nainapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, Acting Lt. Thanasit Iam-ananchai, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Digital Economy and Society, Dr. Danan Supattapan, CEO of Thailand Post Co., Ltd., Ms. Morakot Kulthamyojin, Managing Director of Internet Thailand Public Company Limited, Mr. Prokchon Ngamsiri, Co-founder of Nex Gen Commerce, along with government officials, private sector executives, and entrepreneurs.
Ms. Supachai stated that the “Thai Helps Thai to Boost SME Income” project is an urgent measure by the Ministry of Commerce to alleviate economic impacts affecting energy prices, transportation costs, business operating expenses, and the public’s cost of living. The government prioritizes supporting the grassroots economy and assisting Thai entrepreneurs, particularly SMEs and community enterprises, which are key drivers of the nation’s economy.
“Thai SMEs are a vital income source for the Thai economy, but over recent years, their income share has remained around 35 percent of the economy. We aim to increase this to 40 percent so that economic growth benefits smaller entrepreneurs and grassroots communities more broadly,” Supachai said.
She added that the Ministry of Commerce has outlined three key strategies to support Thai SMEs: developing entrepreneurs’ skills and potential, facilitating access to funding, and expanding market opportunities. The “Thai Helps Thai to Boost SME Income” project serves as an important mechanism to increase marketing channels for entrepreneurs via online platforms.
For this project, the Department of Business Development has selected over 2,000 SMEs, community enterprises, and local product manufacturers nationwide who produce their own goods using domestic raw materials to sell quality products on Thai e-commerce platforms, Nex Gen Commerce and Thailand Post Mart, throughout June 2026.
Participating entrepreneurs will receive comprehensive marketing benefits, including exemption from sales commission fees (GP) during the project period, support with discount coupons, free shipping, and promotion through well-known influencers and key opinion leaders (KOLs) who will review products, create content, and host live sales events to increase consumer reach and boost sales effectively.
Additionally, the Ministry of Commerce is providing 250 free shipping coupons per store, totaling over 10 million baht, to reduce entrepreneurs’ costs. Consumers purchasing products through the project will receive a special 100-baht discount code “Thai Helps Thai” when buying at least 200 baht, with 500,000 codes available, valued at 50 million baht, to help reduce living expenses and stimulate Thai consumption.
“We want to see Thais support products made by Thais, so income flows back to producers and small entrepreneurs. At the same time, the public benefits from access to quality goods at reasonable prices. This represents a concrete effort to drive the Thai economy from the grassroots,” Supachai said.
The Ministry of Commerce is confident that the “Thai Helps Thai to Boost SME Income” project will be a vital mechanism to increase income for Thai entrepreneurs, circulate money domestically, and strengthen the grassroots economy sustainably in the digital economy era.
