OSMEP Allocates 765 Million Baht to Empower SMEs, Partners with Department of Industrial Promotion to Elevate Future Businesses

Ms. Panita Chinawatra, acting director of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), revealed that OSMEP has developed an SME promotion action plan under the vision "SMEs Survive, Adapt Quickly, and Grow Sustainably." The goal is to raise SMEs' contribution to the national GDP to 38.6%. The plan emphasizes five main areas including digital technology and green business, driven by four strategies and sixteen tactics covering growth across all business groups, targeted marketing, business environment improvements, and support for key industries.

OSMEP has allocated a total of 765 million baht from the SME Promotion Fund for this project, distributed to agencies from four ministries and eleven organizations across twenty-five projects. This funding aims to expedite recovery and enhance the capacity of SMEs to continue operations after facing economic crises, floods, border impacts, and conflicts in the Middle East.

Recently, OSMEP signed a memorandum of understanding for the Rebuild SMEs project with the Department of Industrial Promotion. OSMEP will allocate budget to jointly promote SMEs to upgrade toward future industries such as digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), high-value food, medical and health sectors, and clean energy. Beyond financial support, OSMEP will encourage SMEs to register for SME ONE ID, a business passport that enables fast access to government benefits and services while minimizing document redundancy.
