Reporters state that the Department of Highways (DOH) reported finding nuts and screws dropped on the outbound lane of Motorway No. 7 (M7) near kilometer marker 39+600 on 12 June 2026. This caused damage to several vehicles that ran over the debris.

The Department of Highways, through the Expressway Highway District Office, reviewed CCTV footage and collaborated with police investigations. They identified the culprit on the same day. Around 9:00 p.m., the driver voluntarily met with investigators at On Nut Metropolitan Police Station to provide information and acknowledge charges under legal procedures.

The cause was negligence leading to over 40 vehicles getting flat tires.

Preliminary investigations found the cause was due to improperly covered nuts and screws being transported, resulting in debris falling onto the road surface and affecting many road users.

The offender has accepted responsibility for compensating all affected parties according to their car insurance coverage. For any damages beyond insurance coverage, the business owner has confirmed they will fully cover the additional costs.

Initially, police inquired at two tire repair shops near the Bang Pakong exit, finding approximately 43 affected vehicles received tire repair services. Authorities are continuing to gather data to confirm the full number of victims.

The Department of Highways expressed gratitude to the Highway Police and On Nut Metropolitan Police for their cooperation in quickly tracking down the culprit and coordinating damage compensation.
