The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) collaborates with Tmall Global to launch the store "T-Style Shop" featuring 12 Thai fashion and lifestyle brands entering the Chinese online market, aiming to boost sales through Live Commerce with expected growth of no less than 40% by 2026.

Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkit, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, revealed that she has instructed trade commissioners stationed worldwide to accelerate the expansion of Thai products and strengthen SMEs in the online market, following the policy of Ms. Supachai Sutthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce. She recently received a report from Mr. Sakorn Saensopha, Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs in Shanghai, People's Republic of China, about the cooperation between DITP and Tmall Global to open the Thai Fashion Overseas Flagship Store, or T-Style Shop, on the Tmall Global platform. Introducing the 12 Thai brands in T-Style Shop targeting Chinese consumers

The launch of T-Style Shop unites over 12 quality Thai brands, allowing Chinese consumers to shop for comprehensive Thai fashion products in one place, divided into four main groups as follows:

  • Ready-to-wear group: brands CHER'Z, The Parrot, Miss Modern, and VICKTEERUT.

  • Bags and shoes group: brands Sugar Monday, Love Bug, Urban Trooper, and Buffollow.

"The Chinese market is a key target for promoting and driving Thai exports. Our collaboration with Tmall Global will serve as a bridge allowing Thai products to reach Chinese consumers directly. We believe that if Thai entrepreneurs adapt, learn, and fully utilize these channels, growth opportunities will surely follow. We expect Thai fashion and lifestyle product sales through Tmall Global to grow by no less than 40% by 2026," Ms. Sunanta said.

Live Commerce strategy and offline activities drive 40% sales growth

Mr. Sakorn Saensopha, Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs in Shanghai, added that the office works closely with Tmall Global to select Thai products with existing Chinese fan bases to be sold through T-Style Shop, a hub for high-quality Thai fashion brands. They will employ Live Commerce strategies with well-known Chinese KOLs to increase awareness and stimulate purchase decisions. Plans also include bringing Thai brands to participate in trade negotiations at Ontimeshow during Shanghai Fashion Week annually, where over 4,000 Chinese and international brands attend, along with a buyer network exceeding 10,000 across 300 cities in China. Additionally, Pop-Up and Time to Bloom events will feature over 20 leading Thai brands such as POEM, The Parrot, CHER'Z, MIRROR MIRROR, THANN, DIVANA, and MISTINE to raise awareness among Chinese consumers.

Success of Thai fashion brands in the Chinese market

Currently, some Thai fashion brands have succeeded in China, such as POEM, which now has a store at Citic Square, a leading commercial hub in Shanghai, and recently expanded to MixC World mall in Shenzhen, as well as online sales on Tmall Global. Gentlewoman, a Thai fabric bag brand known for simple, practical designs and distinctive logos, is also notable. Rising stars include Lovebug with floral shoes and Sugarmonday offering quality bags at affordable prices.
