The Department of Rural Roads has fully opened the Phl.2043 road in Phitsanulok Province after investing 39.9 million baht to upgrade the road to a width of 10 meters, solving traffic problems, supporting agricultural product transportation, and facilitating public convenience and safety.
Mr. Phichit Hunsiri, Director-General of the Department of Rural Roads (DRR). He revealed that to improve travel standards for rural residents, ensuring convenient transportation and agricultural product delivery as well as tourism, the DRR recently completed construction and road elevation on the Phl.2043 rural highway at Ban Sanamklee, Mueang Phitsanulok District, Phitsanulok Province. This route is now fully open for public use, aligning with the policies of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn to upgrade roads for efficient, safe transportation services. It also supports the local agricultural industry, contributing to sustainable community economic growth.
The project starts by connecting to Highway 126 at kilometer 0+400 and ends by linking to Highway 1065 at kilometer 69+250. The road was constructed with a 10-meter-wide asphalt concrete surface, including a 7-meter-wide traffic lane and 1.5-meter shoulders on each side, spanning a total length of 2.8 kilometers. The total construction budget was 39.992 million baht.
Since opening to the public, the route has economically supported the transport of local agricultural products such as rice to purchasing centers and markets more conveniently and quickly, reducing transportation time and costs. This has strengthened the local community economy and tangibly eased residents' difficulties. Previously, residents of Village 7, Ban Tha Thong, Tha Thong Subdistrict, Mueang Phitsanulok District faced travel hardships due to the narrow 6-meter road without shoulders and increasing traffic volume, which caused transportation delays.
Moreover, this road serves important locations including Phitsanulok Pittayakom School, the Special Education Center for Education Service Area 7, Phutthachinarat Hospital Bueng Kaeng Yai branch, Wat Pa Chantrawas (Th), community markets, and various government offices. The construction and elevation of this road thus enhance social aspects, improving residents’ quality of life by facilitating easier access to education, healthcare, and religious activities. Travel to schools, hospitals, and government offices is now more convenient, faster, and safer.
