
The Ministry of Commerce teams up with OSMEP to launch a model called "Thai Help Thai Franchise Plus" where the government covers 50% of franchise fees and offers six months of free selling space starting 1 July 2026, supporting income generation and driving community economic growth.
Mr. Poonphong Nainapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, revealed that the department, in collaboration with the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) and partner networks, has launched the project "Thai Help Thai Franchise Plus" starting 1 July 2026 to reduce costs, create jobs, and generate income for the public.
Those interested in purchasing franchises through this project will receive key benefits and support measures from both the government and private sectors in three areas:
Government co-payment measure of 50% The government immediately subsidizes half of the initial franchise package fee (up to 10,000 baht) for franchise packages priced no more than 100,000 baht to reduce startup costs.
Support with selling locations and six months free rent With cooperation from CP Axtra Public Company Limited, potential selling spaces are opened in more than 2,000 Lotus and Makro branches, totaling over 10,000 locations nationwide.
Support with special interest financing Liquidity is enhanced with special rate loans from leading financial institutions including Krungthai Bank, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME D Bank), and Government Savings Bank, with guarantees from the SME Credit Guarantee Corporation (SGC).

Make the first payment using the Bill Payment service of Krungthai Bank
Establish the branch and submit required documents to qualify for the subsidy
Franchise buyers must register for SME ONE ID with OSMEP and download the "Tung Ngern" app to participate in the project.
Mr. Poonphong added, "We invite interested individuals to apply quickly to join the 'Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40' government project, which guarantees sales and builds a solid customer base for franchise buyers, enabling small entrepreneurs to effectively and sustainably leverage government purchasing power to drive community stores. The project will officially launch on 13 July, led by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce (Mrs. Supachai Suthumpun), to realize dreams of career creation and income generation through franchising and to strengthen the Thai economy."
