
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) enlisted "Buakaw Banchamek" to organize Muay Thai art showcases in Germany and Switzerland, drawing enthusiastic crowds and promoting Thai SELECT cuisine.
The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) showcased the results of its Muay Thai Festival promotional activities in Europe, held in Germany and Switzerland, led by “Buakaw Banchamek” who appeared to massive crowds. They also took this opportunity to promote Thai SELECT restaurants alongside, raising awareness simultaneously.
Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkit, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, revealed that she instructed trade attachés stationed worldwide to accelerate the expansion of Thai products and services markets, following the policy of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Sutthumpun. Recently, a report was received from Ms. Jiranan Hiranyasamrit, Director of the Foreign Trade Promotion Office (FPO) in Frankfurt, Germany, regarding the success of the Muay Thai Festival promotional activities in Europe (Germany and Switzerland) held from 20–21 June 2026, which enhanced Muay Thai's reputation.
The trade attachés reported on the activities organized, which included “Muay Thai Master Class with Buakaw Banchamek” held at two venues in Germany and Switzerland with a total of 530 participants: on 20 June 2026 at Schulhaus und Sporthalle Blumenfeld sports arena in Zurich, with 258 attendees, and on 21 June 2026 at Fabriksporthalle Fechenheim sports arena in Frankfurt, with 272 attendees.
The events featured displays of Thai character-themed boxing gear and simultaneous promotion of Thai cuisine and Thai SELECT restaurants to increase awareness and broaden popularity. Promotional images were shared online, garnering over 30,000 views.
These activities also helped boost Muay Thai's popularity, creating opportunities to expand markets for related Muay Thai products. Plans include inviting boxing camps and related businesspeople to participate in online business negotiation events for Muay Thai products.
Additionally, the Muay Thai @Thai Festival held at the central square in Frankfurt, Germany, on 21 June 2026 featured Buakaw Banchamek demonstrating Muay Thai techniques and inviting attendees to practice skills on stage. Photos from the event were shared online, attracting over 20,000 attendees and more than 8,500 views. A press interview with Buakaw Banchamek was held at the FPO in Frankfurt to promote Muay Thai and raise awareness about the FPO's roles and activities, with the interview video receiving 7,500 views.
