On 15 Jul 2026, National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) partnered with the Customs Department, Port Authority of Thailand, and operators to launch the electronic Delivery Order (NSW e-D/O) pilot system at Bangkok Port, revolutionizing transport toward a digital system that reduces costs and time, supporting the Smart Port strategy.
On 15 Jul 2026, the Customs Department, Port Authority of Thailand (PAT), and NT, together with the Thai Shipping Association and Bangkok Shipowners and Agents Association (BSAA), announced a major success in advancing the national logistics strategy by inaugurating the "Electronic Delivery Order" or e-D/O via the THAI NSW (Thailand National Single Window) central platform at Bangkok Port, aiming to enhance trade convenience and global competitiveness.
The official pilot launch of the NSW e-D/O at Bangkok Port is Thailand's first, achieved through close collaboration among public and private sectors—including the Port Authority of Thailand, NT, and private logistics operators—under Customs Department policy and oversight, aiming to continuously digitize customs processes to facilitate safe, transparent trade.
Phanthong Loikulanun, Director-General of the Customs Department, stated that previously, issuing Delivery Orders required paper documents and on-site coordination. Transitioning to the NSW e-D/O system helps operators reduce costs related to time, expenses, and information risks.
The new system transmits electronic data swiftly and securely between shipping lines and ports, allowing real-time verification. Besides cutting paper usage, it shortens overall import processing time nationwide, elevating Thailand’s logistics efficiency aligned with the goal of developing digital customs processes for modern trade.
The Port Authority of Thailand collaborated with NT to develop Bangkok Port’s internal systems to connect and activate the electronic Delivery Order via the THAI NSW central platform, fully prepared to operate as the country’s first pilot port.
Thaemsin Sribangpleenoi, Deputy Director of Bangkok Port, explained that launching NSW e-D/O service marks a key step in transforming the port's inbound cargo process from paper-based to 100% paperless, in line with PAT’s Smart Port strategy.
Electronic data exchange for cargo release improves on-site efficiency, reduces processing time, and builds confidence in data accuracy and security among shipping lines, shippers, and logistics operators, forming a vital foundation to set new standards in Thailand’s logistics system.
The NSW e-D/O service is among several offerings on the THAI NSW central platform. As the NSW Operator, NT continuously develops IT systems and services on the platform, recently stabilizing and securing the country’s e-D/O data exchange system to meet international standards and integrate information between shipping operators and Bangkok Port.
The five leading shipping lines ready to use NSW e-D/O in the pilot phase are:
The Thai Shipping Association supports shipping agents to fully adopt electronic documentation, reducing logistics management costs, eliminating redundancies, shortening cargo handling times, and establishing new standards for Thailand’s logistics and supply chain systems to grow sustainably. This pilot's success will prepare for expanding e-D/O services to other key ports and trade gateways nationwide.
