The Thai-Myanmar Friendship Association hosted a reception for Tin Myo Swe, Myanmar's Foreign Minister, highlighting the strong relationship and discussing sustainable business cooperation with the private sector.
Phisanu Suwannachat, President of the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Association, revealed in the afternoon of 19 July 2026 GMT+7 that the association's committee had the opportunity to host a reception for Tin Myo Swe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. On the occasion of his visit to Thailand at Baan Suriyasai, where the Myanmar delegation included Saw Saw So, Myanmar's Ambassador to Thailand; Myo Pa Pa Kun, Director-General of the Political Department; Han Min Aung, Director-General of the ASEAN Department; Cho Cho So, Deputy Ambassador, and their delegation attending the event.
On the Thai side, besides the President of the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Association, there were Piyapak Sricharoen, Director-General of the East Asia Department; Tor Sarlump, Ambassador to Yangon; Julawat Narintrangkur Na Ayutthaya, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation; and board members of the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Association. . . . Chana Phumi, Vice President; Chainarong Keeratiyutthawong, Secretary-General; Mom Dispanadda Disakul; Damrit Wiriyakul; and Patrick Horattanachai, executive board members.
Tin Myo Swe, Myanmar's Foreign Minister, said that Thailand and Myanmar are good neighboring countries with a long history, including strong relations between the peoples and governments of both nations. The Thai-Myanmar Friendship Association is an organization with personnel dedicated to strengthening good relations between the two countries. He hopes that the relationships between organizations, peoples, and governments of both countries will remain sustainable and long-lasting.
On the Thai side, Phisanu Suwannachat, President of the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Association, welcomed the visit of Tin Myo Swe, Myanmar's Foreign Minister, calling it an important opportunity that shows Myanmar's constructive interaction with Thailand. The association is pleased to learn that talks with the Thai government have been positive within a framework of friendship and constructive atmosphere. The association is committed to advancing relations between the two countries to grow, progress, warm, and mutually benefit both sides. It is also pleased to know that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Myanmar's President, will officially visit Thailand soon. The association intends to participate in activities to welcome the Myanmar leader and to strengthen ties between private sectors of both countries, particularly promoting cooperation in business, trade, arts, religion, culture, etc., to ensure grassroots relations support sustainable and strong state-to-state relations.
During this meeting, Tin Myo Swe also had the opportunity to speak with association board members from the Thai business sector, noting that there has been cooperation in various areas, including good trade contacts. He affirmed Myanmar's willingness to fully cooperate with Thai businesses in all future dimensions.
