BKS invites the public to travel by public buses during the late July long holiday to stimulate the economy, providing buses and drivers to support convenient, safe, and sufficient travel for those returning home.
Mr. Attawit Rakjamroon, CEO of the Transport Company Limited (BKS), said he invites people to travel by public buses during the long holiday at the end of July 2026 to help stimulate the domestic economy through spending on transportation, accommodation, food, and local products, thereby generating income and distributing funds to local operators nationwide, in line with government and Ministry of Transport policies.
The company has prepared to facilitate travelers during the extended holiday for the birthday celebration of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn, Asalha Puja Day, and the Buddhist Lent Day from 25 to 30 July 2026. It is expected that about 100,000 people will travel daily to return home and tour, with an average of 6,200 bus trips (company and partner buses) per day to meet passenger demand and prevent any passenger backlog.
Safety is also prioritized. Officials and partner operators have been instructed to strictly enforce bus readiness checks, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are safe before service. Drivers must have sufficient rest, pass zero alcohol and drug tests, control speed, follow traffic laws, and for long routes exceeding four hours, two drivers will be assigned for safety.
In addition, the company has assigned staff to assist and ensure safety at all supervised bus terminals nationwide and coordinates with relevant agencies for smooth traffic and bus management. Passengers are advised to plan trips and book tickets in advance for convenience and speed, and are asked to wear seat belts throughout their journey to ensure safety and build confidence in public transport.
