National Housing Authority Opens Chonburi Housing Project to Media, Highlights Rental Starting at 2,000 Baht to Support EEC Workforce

The National Housing Authority organized its 2026 annual media outreach event. On 7 August 2026, Governor Taweepong Wichaidit led media and executive teams to visit the rental housing project for low-income earners in Chonburi (Laem Chabang) to share operational results, exchange information, and promote accurate public awareness atBang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

Taweepong Wichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority, stated that Chonburi is a key strategic area in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) with ongoing industrial expansion, investment, and employment growth, which has increased housing demand. The National Housing Authority has developed both sale and rental housing projects to meet the needs of residents and workers, helping to reduce living and commuting costs. This aligns with the policy of Nikorn Somklang, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, who aims to improve the quality of life for citizens, especially low-income and vulnerable groups, by providing stable, affordable housing under the concept "Building Homes, Building Happiness for a Better Quality of Life." Currently, the National Housing Authority has 46 housing development projects in Chonburi with 25,633 units—43 sale projects with 22,554 units and 3 rental projects with 3,079 units—located near industrial estates, workplaces, and transportation networks to support urban growth and increase housing options for the public.

The project that the National Housing Authority showcased to the media is the Phase 1 rental housing project for low-income earners in Chonburi (Laem Chabang), located on Sukhumvit Road, Bang Lamung Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. It is a 5-story residential building with 544 units, each 28 square meters, including one bedroom, one multipurpose room, and one bathroom. Rent starts at 2,000 to 2,400 baht per month. Its prime location is near three industrial estates: Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Pinthong Industrial Estate (Laem Chabang), and Laem Chabang Port, as well as schools, hospitals, police stations, and shopping malls, providing residents with convenient access to workplaces. Tenants pay water and electricity according to actual usage. The National Housing Authority also emphasizes enhancing residents’ quality of life through vocational promotion activities such as mushroom cultivation, basket weaving, salted egg making, and multipurpose detergent production, alongside training on fire prevention and suppression to build a strong, sustainable community with a good quality of life.

The National Housing Authority invites interested individuals to inquire about rental housing in the low-income rental project in Chonburi (Laem Chabang) by contacting Call Center 1615 or the Chonburi Provincial Housing Office Branch 3 at 0 3840 0155 and 0 3849 4993–4 during official working hours.
