
The State Railway of Thailand has instructed local units to prepare for heavy rain and flash floods in the northern region, maintaining 24-hour monitoring of risk points to ensure the highest safety for passengers.
Today (20 Aug 2026), Anan Phonimdaeng, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, stated that following the Meteorological Department's warning of heavy to very heavy rain in the northern and northeastern regions, which poses a risk of flash floods and flash floods, the railway has ordered related agencies and local staff to be prepared for emergency situations 24 hours a day, implementing proactive measures as follows.
Anan emphasized, “The State Railway prioritizes passenger safety and train operations. If emergencies affect train services, we will promptly resolve issues and facilitate passengers as quickly as possible, adjusting train schedules to reflect real conditions to minimize impacts on users.”
