The Ministry of Commerce is organizing the Thailand Local SDGs Plus Expo 2026, joining forces between public and private sectors to sustainably grow Thai products, opening a platform for business matching and MOU signings to create new trade opportunities.
On 21 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Banjongjit Angsusingh, advisor to the Minister of Commerce, stated that the ministry has been driving trade economic policies under the MOC+ vision to enhance the capabilities of entrepreneurs across all 76 provinces. The goal is to produce and develop goods aligned with new trade trends emphasizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
She added that the global trade landscape has shifted; consumers now seek not only price and quality but also environmental consciousness. Therefore, the Ministry of Commerce prioritizes stimulating awareness among entrepreneurs nationwide to focus on and adapt to sustainability, turning this challenge into a key competitive advantage globally.
The ministry will compile and disseminate SDG-related product information to entrepreneurs and the public, collaborate with private networks to expand marketing channels domestically and internationally, and build consumer confidence to broadly support environmentally friendly products.
"Supporting Thai entrepreneurs producing goods with care for the environment and society will strengthen and sustain the grassroots economy. This event affirms Thai entrepreneurs' potential to lead the global market for eco-friendly products," she said.
One main objective of the expo is to elevate the trade show beyond just a sales venue, turning it into a platform for entrepreneurs to develop capabilities, build networks, and expand into new markets through Business Matching activities connecting business opportunities.
This includes the Design & Innovation Clinic, offering entrepreneurs advice on product development and brand revamping to boost competitiveness and market access domestically and abroad. A highlight on opening day is the signing ceremony of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) among private sector participants, witnessed by the event chair and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce.
This demonstrates concrete business linkages formed during the event and marks a step in creating new networks and opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs from Bangkok and provinces such as Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, and Maha Sarakham, reflecting the expo’s role in connecting diverse regional entrepreneurs with business partners.
Additionally, the event features a special exhibition showcasing Thai wisdom in sustainable fashion, conveying the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya to preserve, maintain, and advance Thai textiles and craftsmanship toward contemporary styles recognized internationally.
Visitors can browse and purchase quality products from entrepreneurs nationwide, including food, beverages, fashion and accessories, textiles and clothing, household items and decorations, as well as health and beauty products, making the expo both a business platform and a shopping festival accessible to the public.
A special feature of the event is its design for visitors to enjoy activities throughout the day. Every day at 1 p.m., there is an idea-generating forum, followed by workshops such as pot painting and plant potting to take home, SEED BOMB – seed bomb making, plus special sales moments from entrepreneurs and live music performances in the evening.
The Thailand Local SDGs Plus Expo 2026 is more than a trade show; it is a platform linking markets, innovation, entrepreneurs, business partners, and consumers together to create trade opportunities, enhance competitiveness, and promote Thai products on a path that adds economic, social, and sustainable value. The expo runs from 21–23 August 2026 at Hall 7, LG floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, where visitors can shop quality products from nationwide entrepreneurs and join various activities.
The Thailand Local SDGs Plus Expo 2026, now in its fourth consecutive year (building on the BCG concept since 2023), aims to expand community product market channels, strengthen, and upgrade the capabilities of community entrepreneurs and SMEs nationwide in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), under the Ministry of Commerce’s vision to drive Thai trade economy toward strength, fairness, and sustainable growth (eMpower and Optimise Commerce plus Sustainable Growth: MOC+).
The event’s key highlights comprise three main components:
1. Exhibition and sale of eco-friendly products featuring over 200 booths and more than 1,000 carefully selected quality items from all 76 provinces, divided into six product categories:
Food category includes ready-to-eat meals, frozen and processed foods, processed fruits and vegetables, rice and rice products, snacks, seasonings, including future foods and superfoods.
Beverages category includes coffee and herbal health drinks.
Fashion category covers leather goods and accessories, bags made from palm fibers and jute, shoes crafted from recycled rubber scraps, and fashion products made from natural materials with modern, eco-friendly designs.
Textiles and clothing category features naturally dyed fabrics and textiles with unique local identities.
Household items, home decorations, and furniture category includes products made from recycled materials, wood scraps, or repurposed waste.
Health and beauty products category includes cosmetics and herbal products made from safe and organic raw materials.
2. Business Matching sessions connecting local producers with department stores, hotels, and international partners aiming to generate at least 500 million baht in economic value.
3. Inspirational activities for the younger generation including forums on sustainability starting from daily life, workshops teaching product creation from waste materials, live music performances by artists, and opportunities for media and attendees to try making products themselves.
The main stage also hosts knowledge-sharing forums featuring experts discussing key topics such as sustainability starting from daily life, sustainability as an opportunity rather than a cost, and income from sustainability. These sessions are free to attend.
The Ministry of Commerce is confident this event will be a crucial starting point to drive strong and sustainable growth for local businesses and showcase Thai entrepreneurs’ progress in advancing the grassroots economy toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
