
The Department of Rural Roads immediately mobilized staff to clean roads in Nan province after floodwaters receded. The department revealed that four provinces in the North are affected, with five routes in Nan still impassable. Repairs and assistance to the public are being expedited until conditions normalize.
Mr. Phichit Hunsiri, Director-General of the Department of Rural Roads (DRR). He revealed that the Maintenance Office reported flooding affecting the rural road network in Northern Thailand. Currently, four provinces are impacted: Mae Hong Son, Nan, Tak, and Ranong, involving a total of 10 routes. Of these, five routes remain passable while five are impassable due to floodwaters eroding road surfaces and shoulders.

The Director-General of the Department of Rural Roads added that he has instructed all affiliated offices and rural highway districts in affected areas to actively manage routes by installing warning signs, suggesting detours, and conducting preliminary repairs to allow temporary public passage.
In areas where water levels have receded, especially in Nan province, the Nan Rural Highway District has deployed staff and water trucks to spray and clean mud from roads, restoring safe road surfaces for travelers. Additionally, the DRR, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, has distributed relief packages to provide initial assistance to flood victims.
