TAT Organizes Amazing Chiang Mai Green Guide Fest 2026, Expected to Generate Over 100 Million Baht

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined forces to organize the "Amazing Chiang Mai Green Guide Fest 2026," promoting Chiang Mai as a model green tourism destination, with expected economic turnover exceeding 100 million baht.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), together with partner agencies, launched the major green event "Amazing Chiang Mai Green Guide Fest 2026," held from 28–30 August 2026 at Railway Park, Chiang Mai. The event aims to advance Chiang Mai as a global sustainable tourism destination by organizing comprehensive eco-friendly activities and targeting a 50% reduction in carbon footprint. It is projected to attract no fewer than 15,000 visitors and generate over 100 million baht in economic circulation within Chiang Mai province.

Mr. Nat Krutsurat, Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business at TAT, stated that this event is a key part of the plan to elevate Chiang Mai as a sustainable tourism prototype for 2026. TAT integrates collaboration across sectors to promote the city’s creative image by blending arts, culture, local wisdom, and health, aiming to deliver a green travel experience and foster a balanced tourism ecosystem.

Packed with craft, music, and farm-to-table activities catering to green tourism enthusiasts.

The event features a diverse range of creative activities, including exhibitions on sustainable tourism innovations and standards, booths selling contemporary craft goods from local entrepreneurs, and more than 35 food and beverage vendors emphasizing local ingredients, alongside opportunities to participate in farm-to-table activities.

Additionally, there is a networking zone connecting green tourism businesses and contemporary cultural music performances by renowned artists such as Serious Bacon, Kian Kai & Vanich, T_047, Mirrr, and Earth Patravee, adding vibrancy for attendees.

Strict environmental management with a goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

Mr. Nat further explained that the event prioritizes systematic environmental management and has been certified as a Zero Carbon Event. Measures include waste reduction, banning single-use plastics, and providing free electric shuttle bus services on two main routes, which are estimated to reduce total carbon emissions during the event to just 350 tons. The expected spending over the three-day event is around 20 million baht, generating overall economic activity exceeding 100 million baht in Chiang Mai province.
