
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) praises "Lisa" for bringing the word "Sawasdee" to global attention in the SaWaDiKa MV and building on soft power by inviting tourists to follow her path, taking tuk-tuks to check in at four major Bangkok landmarks.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibul, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), commented on the popularity of the latest music video "SaWaDiKa" by Lisa Manoban saying TAT appreciates and admires her effort to bring the word "Sawasdee" to the world's eyes perfectly, reflecting the true Thai charm that always comes with a smile and friendliness. They believe this work will inspire people worldwide to want to experience Thai culture themselves.
To respond to and build on the soft power trend from the music video, TAT has launched a campaign inviting both Thai and foreign tourists to follow the trail by riding a "tuk-tuk" which is one of the iconic symbols and memorable images of Thai tourism, to check in at four key landmarks around Bangkok from afternoon to evening as follows:
