BKS Launches 3 New Feeder Routes: Khao Kho, Vientiane, and Thap Lamu Pier Starting 9 Sep

Travelers rejoice! BKS has launched 3 brand-new feeder bus routes connecting airports, piers, and popular tourist spots including Khao Kho, Vientiane, and Thap Lamu Pier (serving Similan and Surin Islands). Service begins 9 September, with fares starting at just 80 baht.

Mr. Atthawit Rakjamroon, CEO of the Transport Company Limited (BKS), stated that BKS is advancing public transport service improvements in line with the Ministry of Transport's policy by introducing feeder bus services connecting airports, piers, and key tourist destinations. This aims to provide convenient, fast, safe, and seamless travel options for both locals and tourists.

This launch features three main feeder routes as follows:

1. Bangkok – Khao Kho route

• Details: This extends the previous Bangkok – Lom Sak route to promote tourism in Khao Kho District, Phetchabun Province.
• Distance 443 kilometers
• Fare 398 baht
• Bus type First-class air-conditioned bus with 36 seats
• Schedule Two round trips daily. Departure from Bangkok Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2) at 09:00, return from Khao Kho at 20:40. (Currently in service)

2. Udon Thani – Udon Thani International Airport – Vientiane route

• Details This extends the former Udon Thani – Vientiane route by adding a stop at Udon Thani International Airport.
• Distance 87 kilometers
• Fare 80 baht
• Bus type Second-class air-conditioned bus with 40 seats

• Schedule: Two round trips daily starting 9 September 2026.
  Outbound trip Departs from Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1 at 09:00, arrives at Udon Thani Airport at 09:30, and reaches Vientiane at 12:00.
  Return trip Departs Vientiane at 14:00, arrives at Udon Thani Airport at 16:30, and reaches Udon Thani Bus Terminal 1 at 17:00.

3. Bangkok – Takua Pa – Thap Lamu Pier route

• Details: Extended to Thap Lamu Pier to connect travelers to famous marine tourist spots in Phang Nga Province, such as Similan and Surin Islands.
• Distance 797 kilometers
• Fare 1,075 baht
• Bus type First-class VIP air-conditioned bus with 24 seats
• Schedule Two round trips daily starting 9 September 2026. Outbound departs Bangkok Bus Terminal (Mo Chit 2) at 18:35, return departs Thap Lamu Pier at 17:00.

Future expansion plans to add 2 more feeder routes to support tourism

Mr. Atthawit added that BKS plans to open two additional feeder routes in the future: Loei – Loei Airport – Luang Prabang and Bangkok – Phuket International Airport – Phuket, to further enhance the transport network coverage.

This not only encourages greater use of public transport but also serves as a crucial mechanism to support tourism and drive sustainable local economic growth.
