Supamas ordered the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) to expand the 'Pee Pokpong' system after winning two Government Excellence Awards in 2026, emphasizing that true success is measured by how effectively consumer problems are resolved. She also instructed linking with the FDA and TISI to speed up problem resolution.
On 10 Sep 2026 GMT+7, the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) held the 2026 Government Excellence Awards ceremony. The OCPB received two awards, with Secretary-General Ronarong Poolpipat and Administration Development Group Director Charatsri Thanithipan representing OCPB to accept the honors.
Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, in her supervisory role over OCPB, instructed the agency to expand the award-winning system to cover all public complaint channels. This effort continues Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul’s policy to reduce bureaucratic steps and waiting times, making government services easier for the public. Supamas emphasized that awards only reflect if the system is on the right path; the real measure is whether consumers in distress receive faster support.
According to OPDC, OCPB, represented by Secretary-General Ronarong Poolpipat and Administration Development Group Director Charatsri Thanithipan, received two Government Excellence Awards, which include:
“I thank the OCPB staff for their work that earned this level of recognition. However, I want to be clear that the award does not mean the work is done. Consumers who are exploited do not want trophies from government agencies; they want to know when their issues will be resolved. Therefore, I have ordered OCPB to implement the award-winning Pee Pokpong system fully across all channels and report monthly progress figures to me,” Supamas said.
To improve service efficiency, Supamas directed development of an AI Chatbot capable of answering inquiries across the hotline 1166, OCPB Connect app, and OCPB website. Additionally, integration of data with the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is planned, enabling rapid forwarding of complaints beyond OCPB’s authority to the responsible agencies.
. Secretary-General Ronarong Poolpipat of OCPB said OCPB will use OPDC’s evaluation criteria to improve complaint handling and follow-up processes. Meanwhile, Supamas thanked the Consumer Organizations Council as representatives of the public for voicing consumer issues in local areas to government agencies.
Supamas added, “I encourage the public not to keep problems to themselves. If you buy products that do not match descriptions, have exaggerated advertising, unfair contracts, or unsafe items, keep receipts, product photos, and communication records with sellers, then file complaints. One complaint you report may help thousands of others.”
Consumers facing problems can file complaints via OCPB hotline 1166, the OCPB Connect app, or the websitewww.ocpb.go.thor at provincial Damrongtham Centers nationwide.
