The Ministry of Commerce has established a Single Command center to manage the nationwide flood situation by monitoring, assessing, and addressing issues. It is accelerating product distribution and increasing restock frequency, with the 1569 hotline available 24 hours.
On 26 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Major Chakra Yodmanee, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, stated that due to flooding in multiple areas nationwide, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Supachai Suthammanont has directed the ministry to closely monitor the situation, emphasizing measures to prevent shortages of consumer goods and unfair price hikes.
The Ministry of Commercehas therefore establisheda Single Command center to serve as a hub for monitoring, assessing, and swiftly resolving issues related to the ministry’s duties amid the flooding situation across Bangkok and other areas nationwide. Chaired by the Deputy Permanent Secretary, it includes the Department of Internal Trade and the Regional Commerce Administration Division, alongside the Ministry’s Office, to ensure rapid and unified response.
Major Chakra said the Ministry of Commerce is closely tracking the situation and its impact on citizens and businesses.Particularly regarding the volumeand prices of consumer goods, product distribution, and transportation. The ministry coordinates with provincial commerce offices nationwide to monitor product demand and report the situation centrally. It also liaises with producers, wholesalers, retailers, and convenience stores to expedite distribution, increase restocking rounds, and adjust transportation methods to suit conditions, meeting the rising demand in affected areas.
For branches of wholesalers, retailers, and convenience stores affected by flooding, the Ministry of Commerce has urged operators to closely monitor the situation and gradually reopen once the area and environment are safe, ensuring continuous public access to goods and services.
Additionally, if citizenswitness hoardingor opportunistic price increases or unfair sales practices, they can report tips or complaints through the Department of Internal Trade hotline 1569, available 24 hours, or their local provincial commerce office, allowing authorities to promptly investigate and act within their jurisdiction.
Major Chakra added that the Ministry of Commerce will continuously monitor flooding in various areas and adjust operations accordingly.Focusing on ensuring sufficient consumer goods,continuous product distribution, and that citizens receive goods at fair prices, in line with government policy.
