TAT Advances Spanish Market, Builds on Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 to Attract Quality Tourists for Winter Season

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) pushes into the Spanish market, building on Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 to boost bookings of Thai travel packages and attract quality tourists for the winter season.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Viajes El Corte Inglés, a leading tour company in Spain, launched the “Grandes Viajes 2027: Descubre Tailandia” campaign from 26 September to 31 October 2026. This campaign builds on the publicity from the “Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 (The Wholesome Taste of Thai)” event by offering travel packages and special deals to stimulate travel decisions in the last quarter of 2026 and early 2027.

Highlighting the Value over Volume strategy to target quality tourists.

Ms. Jirawadee Khunsap, Deputy Governor for Europe, America, Middle East, and Africa at TAT, stated that this initiative extends the promotion of Thai cuisine, culture, and travel experiences showcased at Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 to encourage travel package bookings. It aligns with TAT’s emphasis on Value over Volume by focusing on attracting quality tourists who seek unique travel experiences, aiming to generate revenue and support sustainable growth in long-haul markets.

The “Grandes Viajes 2027: Descubre Tailandia” campaign was launched at El Corte Inglés Sanchinarro department store in Madrid, Spain, on 26–27 September 2026. It promotes gastronomy tourism targeting loyal shoppers, offering Thai travel packages with discounts up to 400 euros. The packages cover food, culture, and water-based tourism. Over 5,000 attendees participated, including premium customers and travel agents.

Expanding a network of 400 points across Spain, aiming to drive sales of 3,000 packages.

Additionally, TAT and Viajes El Corte Inglés promote the campaign through more than 400 sales points nationwide in Spain, along with social media, newsletters, and digital out-of-home (DOOH) media to broaden reach among Spanish tourists. TAT expects the campaign to generate at least 20 million impressions and stimulate sales of about 3,000 Thai travel packages during the winter travel season.

The Spanish market is one of Thailand’s promising long-haul tourist sources. From 1 January to 30 September 2026, 137,228 Spanish tourists visited Thailand, with an average stay of 14 days, generating approximately 8.5 billion baht in tourism revenue. TAT forecasts about 200,000 Spanish visitors by the end of 2026.
