Progress at Songkhla Hospital shows preparations to resume construction of the 9-story outpatient and accident building, with a budget of 316 million baht, expecting contract signing in December 2026 to enhance southern public health services.
11 October 2026 GMT+7 Sanpetch Boonyamani, Deputy Minister of Transport He revealed that after the project stalled due to the original contractor abandoning the work, he has continuously coordinated with relevant agencies to resolve the issue and push for construction to resume promptly.
Recently, the process to appoint a new contractor has advanced, with the YS joint venture, comprising Yuwakorn Suphaphan Ltd. Partnership and Siam Sakulchang Co., Ltd., selected to complete the remaining work with a budget of 316.5 million baht. The report is being prepared for approval by the Ministry of Public Health Secretary-General’s office, with contract signing expected by December 2026, followed by continued construction.
Sanpetch said, “The building is a 9-story reinforced concrete structure designed to withstand earthquakes. Once completed, it will enhance outpatient and accident patient services, meeting the needs of the people of Songkhla and nearby areas, providing more convenient and higher-quality medical access.”
At the same time, Sanpetch expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Minister of Interior, and Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, for their support in advancing the project, as well as to all executives and staff who collaboratively resolved issues to achieve progress.
“I will closely monitor the contract signing process and construction to ensure this building is completed and ready to serve the public as soon as possible, because the government’s key goal is for the people to truly benefit from this project,” Sanpetch said.
