The Ministry of Commerce has launched the “Thai Help Thai: Thong Fah Cost of Living Reduction” project at 3,036 locations nationwide for 90 days starting 16 Oct 2026. It partners with the private sector to offer flood recovery product discounts up to 78%, affirming that producers continue to hold prices steady despite rising diesel costs.
Mr. Poonpong revealed that the Department of Internal Trade has established 3,036 Thong Fah discount points nationwide, including 300 in Bangkok and 2,736 across 76 provinces. These will operate continuously for 90 days starting 16 Oct 2026. The public can check nearby sale points via the Department’s website (www.dit.go.th) and Line Official (@thai.thongfah).
The discounted products are divided into three main groups:

Five categories of consumer goods Daily essentials, personal care products, cleaning products, food and seasonings, and cleaning equipment
Other products Electrical appliancesHouse brand products from retail stores, SME products, geographical indication (GI) items, and agricultural produce
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce predicts this project will help reduce living costs for the public by about 200 million baht over its duration. After 90 days, the ministry plans to request a government budget allocation of 1 billion baht to continue the project long-term. Additionally, it will collaborate with the Ministry of Interior to expand price monitoring points to cover every district nationwide.
Mr. Wathanasak Suea-iam, Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, added that beyond establishing Thong Fah sale points, the department has partnered with 27 operators—including hardware stores, electrical appliance retailers, car service centers, car manufacturers, and wholesale retailers—to run the “Thai Help Thai: Cost of Living Reduction to Fight Flood Crisis” campaign during Oct–Nov 2026. Over 4,223 products and services are discounted up to 78% to aid home repair and recovery after floodwaters recede.
Regarding the domestic diesel price rising to nearly 43 baht per liter, impacting transportation and production costs, Mr. Wathanasak confirmed that no product sellers have requested price increases from the Department of Internal Trade. All parties are enduring to keep prices stable to help ease the public’s burden. The Ministry of Commerce will strictly monitor prices to ensure fairness aligned with actual costs.
