Today (4 Nov. 2026) at17:00Mr. Sanphet Boonyamanee, Deputy Minister of Transport, conducted an on-site inspection of convenience and safety measures at piers along the royal barge procession route for the royal Kathin robe offering ceremony, scheduled at Wat Arun Ratchawararam on Friday, 6 November 2026.
Mr. Sanphet said the Ministry of Transport prioritizes public safety. During this visit, he instructed the Marine Department to closely inspect the readiness of water infrastructure, especially passenger piers on both sides of the Chao Phraya River, to ensure the reception is orderly, dignified, and maximally safe.
The Marine Department has completed repairs and improvements on all piers along the royal barge procession route to ensure strong, stable structures ready to accommodate large crowds.
Additionally, 105 personnel have been assigned across 44 piers from Krung Thonburi (Sang Hi) Bridge to Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge to facilitate crowd management, assist passengers, and strictly control safety during boarding and disembarking.
To facilitate public transport, the Marine Department has coordinated with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) to provide free shuttle bus services to and from piers and the royal ceremony site.
Simultaneously, a water traffic control order for 6 November 2026 requests cooperation to avoid navigation and bans all vessels from passing the Chao Phraya River section between Krung Thonburi Bridge to Phra Phuttha Yodfa and Phra Pok Klao Bridges from 11:00 a.m. onward until the royal ceremony concludes. The public and vessel operators are advised to plan travel accordingly.
