Thais do not abandon each other. The 'Tai Tek Tung Rescue' team broke through the house roof and rappelled down to assist a bedridden patient escaping floodwaters nearly reaching the roof just in time.
On 25 Nov 2025 GMT+7, reporters stated that rescue personnel from the Tai Tek Tung Foundation in Nakhon Si Thammarat traveled to assist flood victims in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province. They received a request to evacuate an 80-year-old bedridden man from a flooded house where water had nearly reached the roof.
Officials moored a boat near the house roof, climbed onto the roof, and removed tiles to create an opening. They then used ropes to rappel down and secure the bedridden 80-year-old man onto a stretcher. The stretcher was tightly bound and carefully hoisted up onto the roof using ropes.
They then carefully slid the stretcher across the roof to the rescue boat waiting below. The patient was taken by boat to Songklanagarind Hospital, where doctors have stabilized his condition. Fortunately, he narrowly escaped drowning.
