Satun Floods Situation Begins to Ease, Water Levels Drop in Municipality Area

"Satun floods" situation is easing; water levels in the municipal area have dropped, steadily returning to normal. Only some water remains in low-lying communities and areas with slow drainage. Officials are rushing to clean travel routes, remove sediment, and restore public spaces.

On 2 Nov 2025 GMT+7, reporters noted that at around 07:00, no rain fell in Satun province, causing floodwaters to recede gradually. Many areas began returning to normal. In La-ngu and Khuan Don districts, only some low-lying downstream areas along canals remained flooded, awaiting drainage. Residents, as the water receded, hurried to clean their homes and remove damaged belongings.

In Satun municipality, residents near the entrance to the municipal fresh market began cleaning and washing their homes as the water subsided. Similarly, market vendors cleaned their shops and removed flood-damaged goods to reopen quickly. Rice was among the items damaged and discarded, as it could no longer be sold.

A clothing vendor said this year’s damage was severe; clothes damaged by water were sold at a loss, reduced from hundreds of baht to just 10-20 baht.

Reporters also noted that flooding in Satun affected 7 districts, 31 subdistricts, 224 villages, 20 communities, 29,549 households, and 81,651 people. There were 25 injured and 3 deaths. Flood-related illnesses such as diarrhea, leptospirosis, dengue fever, influenza, and athlete's foot affected 474 patients. All 582 schools were closed. However, the flood situation in Satun is expected to return to normal within 1-2 days, with ongoing assistance from all sectors.

Meanwhile, the Satun Provincial Public Relations Office reported that on the morning of 28 Nov 2025 GMT+7, flood conditions in Satun municipal area were steadily returning to normal after water levels dropped in almost all locations. Only some communities, especially low-lying areas and places with delayed drainage, remained flooded.

Officials from various agencies are rushing to clean roads, remove sediment, and restore public areas so residents can resume daily life quickly, even as rainfall has begun to diminish.

At the same time, some flooding remains in parts of La-ngu district, particularly at the end of the drainage system where water awaits release into the sea. Authorities are monitoring and actively working to drain the water as quickly as possible to restore normal conditions.
