40 Tow Trucks from Metropolitan Police Begin Clearing Roads in Hat Yai, Relocating Vehicles to 3 Sites

Forty tow trucks from the Metropolitan Police Headquarters have begun operations to open traffic routes in Hat Yai city by relocating obstructing vehicles to three locations. The work is expected to be completed within three days.

On 3 December 2025 GMT+7 at 15:30, Police Major General Wora Vechchapinan, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Police Region 9, mobilized 40 tow trucks from the Metropolitan Police Headquarters. These were sent by Police General Kittirat Phanpetch, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, to assist in reorganizing traffic in Hat Yai, Songkhla Province, following the Hat Yai flood. The operation designated points to tow vehicles blocking the roads and has already begun removing obstructing vehicles to clear traffic routes.

Today, tow trucks from the Metropolitan Police Headquarters began clearing vehicles obstructing traffic in front of the Hat Yai District Office, which connects to the inner Hat Yai area where many cars were parked blocking the roads. Vehicles towed from this site are being stored at the lot opposite Hansah Hotel on the Rat Uthit Road side of Rattanothit Soi, in Zone 8, which can accommodate 200 vehicles.

Vehicles blocking the cement plant area and inner Hat Yai downtown are being moved to be stored at the Central Stadium of Jiranakhon, which can hold 100 vehicles. Other vehicles scattered in various locations are being towed by police to the parking lot of the Provincial Police Region 9 Headquarters in Chalung Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, which has a capacity of 2,000 vehicles.

It is anticipated that the operation to relocate obstructing vehicles and open traffic in Hat Yai city will be completed within three days. Vehicles will be stored at three locations: Jiranakhon Central Stadium, the lot opposite Hansah Hotel on Rat Uthit Road (Zone 8), and the Provincial Police Region 9 parking lot. Afterward, police will record vehicle registration details in a database, allowing vehicle owners or possessors to scan a QR Code to locate their vehicles.
