Sakaeo Police Check Personnel and Equipment Readiness to Handle Thai-Cambodian Border Situation

Sakaeo Provincial Police inspected personnel and weaponry readiness after the Royal Thai Police Chief ordered close monitoring of the Thai-Cambodian border situation, increasing rear security measures and facilitating traffic management.

Regarding the Thai-Cambodian border situation earlier this morning, Cambodian forces initiated gunfire against Thai soldiers. According to information gathered by the 2nd Army Region, Cambodia had been preparing for the attack since yesterday (7 Dec), resulting in two Thai soldiers being injured. Cambodia had posted continuously on social media about their readiness in all aspects, including personnel and weapons, as a form of provocation.

Later, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the Royal Thai Police Chief, ordered police in the border area to implement the rear area protection plan.

1. Closely monitor the situation and be prepared to support civilian evacuation immediately if ordered.

2. Prepare personnel, weapons, equipment, and vehicles to be ready to operate jointly with security forces.




3. Increase security measures in rear areas to protect the lives and property of citizens.

4. Facilitate traffic management to support troop movements and civilian evacuations.





Most recently, at around 13:00 on 8 December 2025 GMT+7, Police Colonel Jaturapat Singhathit, Deputy Chief of Sakaeo Provincial Police, Police Colonel Tosak Sriserm, Deputy Chief of Sakaeo Provincial Police, Police Colonel Damrong Iampairoj, Chief of Criminal Investigation Division, Police Colonel Chuchart Khongmuang, Chief of Khlong Luek Police Station, Police Colonel Weepong Kongkaew, Chief of Aranyaprathet Police Station, and Police Colonel Sutthipong Inthisit, Chief of Khok Sung Police Station, gathered 400 officers from the Sakaeo Provincial Police Crowd Control Unit and Investigation Division.




They inspected the readiness of personnel, weapons, equipment, and vehicles at Khok Sung Police Station, Khok Sung District, Sakaeo Province, ready to support and facilitate civilian evacuation under the rear area protection plan. The personnel are able to carry out tasks immediately upon orders.
