Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police has ordered traffic management for the 33rd SEA Games from 9-20 December 2025, advising the public to avoid areas around Rajamangala National Stadium. Three parking lots with a total of 1,500 parking spaces will be opened.
On 9 December 2025, Police Lieutenant General Nithithorn Jintakanon, Commander of Education and head of the Traffic Police Image Enhancement Task Force at the Traffic Management Center of the Royal Thai Police (TPC), announced that Police General Samran Nualma, Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Thai Police and director of the Traffic Management Center, has ordered the Metropolitan Police Bureau to deploy full traffic police forces to facilitate traffic flow and assist the public. They will also publicize traffic routes during Thailand's hosting of the 33rd SEA Games or SEA Games 2025, held from 9-20 December 2025, featuring 11 participating countries and competitions across 10 provinces nationwide. Bangkok alone will host events at 32 venues.
Today at 7:00 p.m., the opening ceremony will take place at Rajamangala National Stadium in Hua Mak, Bangkok, with gates opening at 12:00 noon. A large number of spectators, athletes, and attendees are expected. Rapid response teams will be prepared to resolve traffic issues, and tow trucks will be on standby in case of vehicle breakdowns or obstruction. Traffic police have been ordered to operate at full capacity and coordinate closely with all relevant agencies to manage traffic until conditions improve, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding and overall traffic flow.
Additionally, Police Lieutenant General Nithithorn requested that attendees traveling to the opening ceremony and competitions use public transportation instead of private vehicles, such as buses, the Airport Rail Link, or public boats, as this will be more convenient. The Sports Authority of Thailand has arranged shuttle buses to transport the public to the opening ceremony at Rajamangala National Stadium, operating from 12:00 noon until the event concludes as follows:
1. Forty BMTA buses serving three pick-up and drop-off locations at the three parking lots (total capacity of 1,500 vehicles).
- Army Auditorium
- LIVE PARK Rama 9
- HUAMARK CENTER
2. Forty Thai Smile buses serving two pick-up and drop-off locations.
– Hua Mak BTS Station
– Lam Sali BTS Station
The public is informed to prepare and plan their travel accordingly. For traffic updates and route information, inquiries can be made to the Traffic Police Command hotline available 24 hours.
