
The National Police Chief has ordered full care for six Border Patrol Police officers injured in a Thai-Cambodian border clash, and has instructed personnel to be ready to act when threats arise or upon requests from security authorities.
Update on the Thai-Cambodian border situation: On 9 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Chaipojan Suwanrak, Director of Personnel Office and Deputy Spokesperson of the Royal Thai Police, reported that the border clash left six Border Patrol Police officers injured. Pol. Gen. Kittirat Punpetch, the National Police Chief, immediately ordered full care, including medical treatment and benefits.
The six injured Border Patrol Police officers are: Acting Sub-Lieutenant Supachai Niamthien, Deputy Inspector of the Patrol Division, Border Patrol Police Company 22; Sergeant Major Plangkoon Mokcharoen, Squad Leader, Company 22; Sergeant Major Sitthisak Panthaichai, Squad Leader, Company 22; Sergeant Major Rujthorn Dannathisorn, Squad Leader, Company 22; Staff Sergeant Sitthichai Bungthong, Squad Leader, Company 22; and Staff Sergeant Kamphon Saengjansee, Squad Leader, Company 12. All six are now in stable condition under close medical supervision.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Chaipojan said the National Police Chief expressed concern for the personnel defending sovereignty and assigned Pol. Lt. Gen. Rungruang Thakoonpunyasiri, Commander of the Border Patrol Police, to visit the injured officers, provide assistance, and offer encouragement. The Chief also ordered commanders to closely oversee medical care for the injured and to expedite welfare and benefits due from their service as quickly and fully as possible.
Additionally, the National Police Chief emphasized the Border Patrol Police's cooperation with military forces at the frontline, instructing them to closely monitor the situation and maintain strong positions, ready to respond to threats or security requests as they arise.
