Second Army Region Confirms Cambodia Uses Prasat Ta Kwai as Military Base, Increasing Tensions

The Second Army Region confirms that Cambodia is using the historic site "Prasat Ta Kwai" as a military operational base. They have discovered the involvement of family members in military missions, which further increases tensions and violates international regulations.

An update on the Thailand-Cambodia border situation on 10 Dec 2025 GMT+7: Sources from the Second Army Region revealed that Cambodian soldiers have used the Prasat Ta Kwai site as a deployment area and established it as a military base and firing point for both direct and indirect weapons. This poses a tactical threat aimed at inflicting losses on Thai forces. The use of the "Prasat Ta Kwai" historic site contradicts international principles mandating that such sites remain free of military activities. Cambodia's military use of the site has caused damage and shows disregard for global norms.

Furthermore, there is information indicating that family members have been involved in missions that should be exclusively conducted by military personnel, which is inconsistent with military safety standards and international humanitarian principles.

"The use of a historic site as a military base and weapons firing point, carried out improperly, creates unnecessary tension, suspicion, and violence, clearly violating international norms," a source from the Second Army Region stated.
