Stryker Armored Vehicles Launch Operation to Reclaim Bueng Takuan Checkpoint, Raise Thai Flag, and Install Concertina Wire Fence

The First Army Region launched a proactive operation deploying infantry and 8x8 Stryker armored vehicles to reclaim the area Bueng Takuan checkpoint successfully, raising the Thai national flag and setting up concertina wire fencing

On 10 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reports from the Thai-Cambodian border in Ta Phraya District, Sa Kaeo Province, stated that the First Army Region launched a proactive operation by sending infantry troops along with 8x8 wheeled Stryker armored vehicles to take control of the Bueng Takuan checkpoint area, located opposite the Ban Ta Phraya trade relaxation point, following several days of escalating tensions.

Previously, this area was a critical strategic point that Thailand needed to swiftly reclaim to prevent encroachment. Upon arrival, the operation team cleared obstacles, conducted strict safety checks, and systematically secured the surrounding perimeter. Officials raised the Thai national flag prominently at the Bueng Takuan checkpoint to clearly assert sovereignty.

They also installed concertina wire fencing to extend the defensive line into a controlled zone, aiming to deter intrusion and protect both the personnel and the Thai-side communities.

Currently, combat units maintain deployment of Stryker vehicles and additional infantry forces to closely monitor activities from the Cambodian side. They coordinate with military intelligence units to assess the situation in real time.

This operation was carried out swiftly and decisively to prevent security risks along the border area and to reassure residents of Ta Phraya District and neighboring areas affected by days of conflict noises.
