
Sgt. Patchara Yamtaengorn, a brave soldier who died at Chong An Ma after Cambodia fired a BM-21 rocket, is set to have his body returned to his hometown in Lopburi.
At 11:00 today (12 Dec), it was reported that at 08:13 earlier, Cambodia fired BM-21 rockets targeting Hill 677 three times, causing Sgt. Patchara Yamtaengorn, of Medical Battalion 1, 2nd Infantry Regiment, serving as a field radio operator, to be hit by shrapnel in the head and die instantly.Read the story: Heroic soldier Sgt. Additionally, two soldiers were injured: Cpl. Peeraphat Jenjop of Medical Battalion 1, 1st Infantry Regiment was shot in the left arm; Sgt. Surasak Sarasang of Medical Battalion 1, 2nd Infantry Regiment was hit by shrapnel near the eye socket. Both were transported by vehicle to the Sanpatong Hospital military camp.
The body of Sgt. Patchara Yamtaengorn was moved from the field hospital to the forensic department at Sanpatong Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani, at 13:20.
After completing the autopsy procedures, Sgt. Patchara’s body will be honored at the Buddhist site of the 22nd Military Circle, Sanpatong Camp, Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani, before being sent back to his hometown in Lopburi.
