Thai Troops Seize “Phu Ma Kuea” Area, Secure Key Point at “Chong Khana” in Response to Situation

The 2nd Army Area summarized the latest clash situation: Thai troops have seized the "Phu Ma Kuea" area and responded according to the circumstances. At "Chong Khana," they have secured a key position. Operations at the "Prasat Ta Kwai–Hill 350" area continue as planned.

On 12 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the 2nd Army Area Operations Center summarized the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border as of 18:00, stating that due to ongoing fighting along the border, it would report the main outcomes as follows.

From 09:00 onward, clashes continued along the Thai-Cambodian border. Cambodian forces used various weapons and military equipment in multiple key points within Thai territory, posing risks to personnel and civilians. The 2nd Army Area closely monitored the situation and responded under principles of self-defense and strict adherence to international law. Today, Cambodian forces launched artillery, MB-21 rockets, and suicide drones against Thai positions throughout the day.

Key incidents are as follows:

  • At Chong An Ma area, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, Cambodian forces attacked using firearms, artillery, and BM-21 rockets, also deploying unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Thai forces responded with bomb-dropping drones and supporting fire.

  • At Preah Vihear, Huai Tamaria, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, Cambodian forces attacked with firearms, artillery, and BM-21 rockets. Thai forces followed the plan, employing strategic units and supporting fire to counter.

  • At Phu Ma Kuea, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, Cambodian forces attacked with firearms, artillery, BM-21 rockets, bomb-dropping drones, and FPV drones. Thai forces seized the area and responded according to the situation.

  • At Chong Chom, Chong Rayi, and Plot Tang areas, Kabin Buri District, Surin Province, Cambodian forces attacked with small arms and firearms without using drones. Thai forces maintained continuous deployments along the established lines.

  • At Chong Khana, Kabin Buri District, Surin Province, Cambodian forces attacked with firearms, artillery, and BM-21 rockets. Thai forces secured a key objective and continue to control the area according to plan.

  • At Prasat Ta Kwai–Hill 350, Kabin Buri District, Surin Province, Cambodian forces attacked with artillery, firearms, BM-21 rockets, rocket launchers, and drones. Thai forces continue operations at the designated objectives as planned.

  • At Prasat Ta Muean, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, Cambodian forces attacked with artillery, firearms, and BM-21 rockets. Thai forces maintained their positions along the deployment lines.

The 2nd Army Area affirms it will employ all possible measures to safeguard the security of the people, protect sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the nation's dignity to the utmost extent.
