Khlong Luek Police Station Reports progress on opening the checkpoint to receive Thai nationals returning from the Poipet side; no response from Cambodia for two days
An update on the Thailand-Cambodia border situation at the Khlong Luek permanent border crossing in Aranyaprathet district, Sa Kaeo province: the Thai side has prepared to open the checkpoint to receive Thai nationals returning from Poipet, Cambodia, to proceed with their intake and screening processes.
Most recently, on 12 Dec 2025 at 19:55 GMT+7, the Facebook pageKhlong Luek Police Stationposted a message summarizing the latest situation at the Khlong Luek permanent border crossing, stating that Cambodian authorities currently have no policy to release Thai nationals residing in Poipet back to Thailand, preventing their return.
The Thai side has prepared to open the checkpoint and arranged immigration officers along with relevant government agencies, but must still await Cambodia’s approval. As of now, it has been two days without any response.
However, any further developments will be reported accordingly.
