
The 2nd Army Region revealed information from a Cambodian military operational logbook after seizing the Sam Tae–Hill 677 area, uncovering maps showing the placement of landmines and improvised explosive devices, and is actively expanding investigations.
On 13 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the 2nd Army Region summarized the Thai-Cambodian combat situation at 11:00 as follows.
1. Successfully seized the Sam Tae and Hill 677 targets in the Chong An Ma area, though military operations are ongoing.
2. The Kanad area has had three targets secured, with operations continuing on the remaining areas.
3. Intense fighting persists in the Ta Kwai area; operational results will be reported later.
4. Other key border areas continue to experience sporadic clashes; the situation remains under control with ongoing surveillance, as Cambodian forces attempt to fire artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems (BM-21) into our bases.
Key equipment and items seized from Cambodian military bases at Sam Tae and Hill 677 are as follows.
1. Eight telephones
2. One Cambodian military operational logbook
3. Seven M203 grenades
4. Fifty RPG rockets with accessories
5. 11,765 rounds of ammunition
6. Fifteen radios
Inspection of the Cambodian operational logbook revealed maps of landmine placements and improvised explosive devices dated 12 Aug 2025 GMT+7, showing 11 locations with 30 mines and 2 locations with 6 TNT-based improvised devices. Additionally, plans for placing mines on 21 Aug 2025 GMT+7 at 6 locations were found, though quantities were unspecified. The eight phones and the logbook have been handed over to relevant agencies for analysis and further action.
The military is currently controlling suspected areas of mine and explosive placement to prepare for inspection by relevant units and will provide further updates.
The 2nd Army Region firmly asserts it will implement all measures at full capacity to ensure the security of the people, protect sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity decisively and completely.
