Residents in Buriram Province Fear Escalation of Clashes, Gradually Evacuate to Additional Shelters

Residents of Buriram Province living near the border district fear the clashes may escalate. They are gradually packing their belongings and evacuating to additional shelters. They say this time the fighting is more intense than ever, with loud noises and strong vibrations clearly felt.

On 13 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that the clashes between Thai and Cambodian soldiers have continued since early this morning, occurring in multiple areas. Especially in Surin Province, which borders Buriram Province, loud artillery fire has been heard continuously.

This has caused some residents who still live in homes along the border zone in Buriram's border districts, who did not evacuate during the initial wave, to gradually pack essential belongings and prepare to evacuate, following neighbors who left earlier, heading to shelters arranged by the province.

Residents say that in this round of clashes, the loud sounds and vibrations are clearly noticeable, marking it as more intense than previous incidents. They fear for their safety and therefore are packing their belongings to prepare for evacuation.
