An update on the Thailand-Cambodia border situation on 14 Dec 2025: Rear Admiral Parat Rattanachaiyaphan, spokesperson for the Royal Navy, revealed that today (14 Dec 2025), the Royal Navy, through the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Command and the Trat Marine Task Force, launched a military operation to reclaim Thai sovereign territory at the area of three houses in Ban Nong Ree, Chamrak Subdistrict, Mueang District, Trat province. This area had been encroached upon by opposing forces. The operation began at dawn, involving heavy clashes under the principles of self-defense according to international law and prioritizing the protection of national sovereignty.
As of 07:20, the Royal Navy has secured and reclaimed the area, expelling all opposing forces. The Thai national flag has been raised there to officially confirm Thailand's sovereignty over the territory.
However, intermittent clashes persist around Ban Nong Ree due to counterattacks by opposing forces. The marine units on duty continue to maintain control of the situation, acting under principles of necessity and proportionality to preserve security and prevent further incursions into Thailand's sovereignty.
