"Army" confirms that Thai soldiers have seized "missiles" the GAM-102LR guided anti-tank missiles in large numbers from Cambodian troops on Hill 500.
On 14 Dec 2025, it was reported that the "Army" confirmed that Thai soldiers were able to seize large quantities of the fifth-generation Chinese-made GAM-102LR guided anti-tank missile system from Cambodian troops on Hill 500.
The fifth-generation guided anti-tank missile (ATGM) is a modern guidance system capable of effectively engaging tanks and other military targets. This new model features high accuracy and operational flexibility with a standard firing range of 6-10 kilometers. The missile was only introduced earlier this year and represents a significant discovery of advanced heavy weaponry on the front lines.
This fifth-generation ATGM is produced by China’s Poly Defence (GAM/Bolas series). It can be used in infantry tactical assaults or mounted on vehicles. It is believed that the Cambodian base personnel lack proficiency in operating this missile, and following a Thai military attack and capture of the area, the Cambodian forces abandoned these weapons and fled.
