First Army Region Summarizes Sa Kaeo Border Situation, Estimates 300 Cambodian Soldiers Dead

"First Army Region" Summarizes the Thai-Cambodian border situation in Sa Kaeo province and provides an estimate. "Cambodian soldiers" have died, totaling 300 bodies.


First Army Region Operations Center Summarizes the Thai-Cambodian border situation in Sa Kaeo province as of 14 Dec 2025 18:00 GMT+7. The Burapha Task Force has been conducting sovereignty protection operations amid the Thai-Cambodian conflict for seven days, with key actions as follows.

  • At Ban Khlong Phang, Ta Phraya district, a strategy to seize control of the area was implemented using supporting fire weapons to control the open terrain. Cambodian forces resisted with continuous fire from BM-21 rocket launchers, artillery, and grenade launchers.
  • At Ban Nong Ya Kaew, Khok Sung district, Thai forces seized territory along the claimed boundary and used supporting fire weapons to prevent further reinforcement by Cambodian forces, who continued to resist with BM-21 rocket launchers, artillery, and grenade launchers.
  • At Ban Nong Jan, Khok Sung district, a strategy to seize control was carried out using supporting fire weapons to secure the area. Cambodian forces countered with ongoing fire from BM-21 rocket launchers, artillery, and grenade launchers.

The Burapha Task Force conducted military operations targeting Cambodian forces considered a threat to Thailand's sovereignty and the safety of soldiers and civilians. Since 8 Dec 2025 to present, verified Cambodian losses include 1 command post, 11 observation posts/military bases, 1 casino, 6 bunkers, 1 weapons storage site, 4 grenade launcher positions, 2 supply/muster points, 2 ammunition depots, 3 armored vehicles, 4 reconnaissance drones, and 4 communication signal towers. Approximately 300 Cambodian soldiers are estimated dead.

Regarding preparations to repatriate Thai nationals from Poipet, Cambodia, back into Thailand at the Ban Khlong Luek permanent border crossing in Aranyaprathet district, Cambodia continues to refuse their release for the fourth consecutive day.

Regarding personnel casualties, today 2 additional soldiers were reported wounded. Since 8 Dec 2025 to date, 50 soldiers have been wounded and 3 have died. In the border areas of Sa Kaeo province across 4 districts, provincial authorities together with relevant agencies have established 44 temporary shelters across 5 locations, housing a total of 21,883 people.

The First Army Region confirms it will steadfastly carry out its mission to the best of its ability. Military operations will continue under rules of engagement and the right to self-defense until border threats in Sa Kaeo province cease, prioritizing Thailand's sovereignty and the safety of its citizens.
