The event was solemn and honorable, with an honor guard lined up to pay respects and a procession vehicle moving the hero's body out of the hospital.
The fallen soldier is Sergeant Apisit Bunnak, also known as "Sergeant Tee," serving as a military nurse assigned to the 11th Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion (16th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Battalion), 2nd Army Area. In the procession transporting the body, "Tiger," the deceased's loyal dog who had served alongside him at the border, traveled with the convoy to the site of the religious ceremony.
Reports state that Sergeant Apisit Bunnak died on the evening of 14 December 2025 while on duty inside a bunker at Phu Ma Khuea, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province. He was attacked violently with BM-21 rockets by Cambodian forces. The deceased served as a military nurse, continuously caring for and assisting fellow soldiers on the frontline until his last moments.
After the send-off ceremony, Sergeant Apisit Bunnak's body will be moved for religious rites at Wat Pa Phutthaphawan, Ban Somsat, Village No. 7, Somsat Subdistrict, Kuchinarai District, Kalasin Province. Family members, relatives, fellow soldiers, and the public will gather to take part in the ceremony.
This loss represents a profound sacrifice for the military and the nation, marking the passing of a "soldier doctor" who served with dedication and steadfast commitment to protecting the country's sovereignty to the utmost.
